MIchelle Yow-Davidson
Michelle is a STOTT® Pilates certified instructor whose teaching style is grounded in precision, intention and intelligent movement. With training across Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels through Advanced Level, she brings a strong technical foundation to her sessions while keeping her approach warm, approachable and highly individualised. Her relationship with Pilates began in 2010 and became more meaningful through pregnancy, motherhood and her own experience of navigating the physical changes that come with different stages of life. After more than two decades in marketing and communications, Michelle made the transition into teaching Pilates — bringing with her a natural ability to communicate, observe and connect with people. Rather than simply taking clients through exercises, Michelle focuses on helping them understand how and why they move. Her teaching is deliberate and precise, with an emphasis on breath, alignment, control and quality of movement over speed or range. She is known for thoughtful cueing and for adapting exercises to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit the exercise. Michelle works with both women and men across a wide range of ages and abilities, from those new to Pilates to experienced movers looking to refine their practice. She has additional training in pre- and postnatal Pilates and osteoporosis, with a growing focus on strength, longevity and pro-aging — particularly supporting women as their bodies and priorities evolve through their 40s and beyond. At the heart of her teaching is a simple philosophy: Pilates isn't about performing the most impressive exercise. It's about building a body that is strong, capable and confident enough to support the life you want to live.
